The Reference Desk
The library is free, and stays free. The Desk is for the reader who wants the library to walk with them: guided versions of the hard passages, the deadline held in front of them, and a second pair of eyes on their documents before those documents meet the IRS.
§ 1 —What the Desk adds, as slip rules
REFERENCE DESK — $79 PER YEAR · SLIP RULES
§ 2 —Three artefacts, shown
A sample member walkthrough page — REF C-1, guided setting
WALKTHROUGH — BEFORE YOU CALL FOR LETTER 147C
1 · Have the entity's legal name as the IRS recorded it in front of you — the CP 575 spelling, not your styling of it.
2 · Have the responsible party's details and the address of record ready for the identity check.
3 · Ask for the letter by name: “an EIN verification letter, Letter 147C.”
4 · Choose fax if you can — the letter can be sent during the call.

DEADLINE STRIP — CALENDAR-YEAR ENTITY · REF D-1 · A NON-CALENDAR YEAR USES THE 15TH DAY OF THE 4TH MONTH AFTER ITS YEAR ENDS
§ 3 —What the Desk never does
It never files an EIN, for anyone, at any price. Filing belongs to a filing business. It never forms a company, prepares a tax return, or gives tax or legal advice. Members are pointed to qualified professionals for their own facts, by name of the question to ask them. It never sells a “lifetime” anything. The Desk is a subscription: $79 per year, renewable, cancellable.
§ 4 —Founding list — the Call Slip
Current state, stated plainly: the Desk's operating company, EIN For Non-Residents LLC, is not yet formed, banked, and payment-live — so no payment can be taken and none is asked for. We do not publish a date we cannot guarantee. What you can do today is join the founding list. Founding-list readers are written to first when the Desk opens, at the $79/yr price shown here. Joining costs nothing, obliges you to nothing, and is not a pre-order.
